This article describes a partnership research experience that aims to contribute to the ideation and implementation of a food community in Saint-Camille in the Estrie region of Quebec. First, a word about the Ateliers des savoirs partagés (knowledge sharing workshops), a project to initiate a process of reflection on action, cross-learning and systematization of experiences to improve the dynamism of rural communities. Then, the context of the renewal of concerns for locally produced food is discussed. These two elements have proved to be essential for the co-construction of a partnership research project to design a development plan for a “food community” in Saint-Camille. The ideation steps of this project, the territorial bonds and its first contributions to implement a food community will be discussed. The project is part of the premises of performative research as a framework for interaction between researchers and social actors in a perspective of societal and ecological transition.
