This study compares the effects of governance on poverty between the Franc Zone and the Commonwealth using the estimators Mean Group (MG) of Pesaran and Smith (1995) and Common Correlated Effects Mean Group (CCEMG) of Pesaran (2006). The application of these estimators with World Bank data from 2010 to 2021 shows that governance contributes to the increase poverty in the Franc Zone, but to its reduction in the Commonwealth, through “Voice and Accountability” and “Control of Corruption” factors.
