Abstract

Women entrepreneurship in Africa has specific management characteristics. It highlights an entrepreneurship practiced at home by women with the support of the family network. This type of entrepreneurship still lacks a strong theoretical foundation. The purpose of this article is to show how this female entrepreneurship at home, analysed through the prism of partnership governance, participates in the learning of responsible behaviors favourable to the next generation. This study is based on the social capital, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the partnership governance theories. Interviews with 16 women entrepreneurs with diverse profiles in the city of Abidjan, in Côte d’Ivoire, show that beyond seizing business opportunities, they share the desire to transmit entrepreneurial know-how to the next generation.
