Abstract

Despite the efforts made by various players of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Morocco to promote women entrepreneurship, the gender gap persists. The reasons behind this gap are, however, little studied. This article explores the specificities of the female entrepreneurial process through a qualitative survey of 13 women entrepreneurs, in order to understand the possible effects of gender on their entrepreneurial adventure, and to identify the main levers and obstacles to female entrepreneurship in Morocco.
