Abstract

This article consists of a presentation of the potential contribution of the development of the collaborative economy and collaborative platforms on the devitalization of peripheral rural areas. More specifically, the research aims to explore possible solutions to the loss of local services to devitalized cities and municipalities in Quebec and Canada by studying the potential of crowdfunding campaigns. Considering that this phenomenon is evolving rapidly, the article is intended to be an exploratory study, based on concrete examples of regional and local initiatives, leading to avenues of reflection for carrying out research on the subject.
