Abstract

The Tshakapesh Institute in Sept-Îles is a 40-year-old innu regional organization that values innu language, culture and academic achievement within the communities that are members. It is also well-known amongst the Innus for the creation and establishment of educational and linguistic tools in their schools. The Tshakapesh Institute has also been involved elsewhere in Québec for the last 25 years through the «Under the shaputuan» programme that allows innu culture to spread across different education institutions. Therefore, the Innus have put forward plural territorialities that will be explored in this article.
