Abstract

The Francophone comedy industry is very significant in the Quebec culture. Studying an industry with the ecosystem concept is increasingly popular in management. This ecosystem concept, as an analysis framework, allows better perception between interdependent players of a given circle. The comedy industry ecosystem focuses on the comedian. The objective of this article is to introduce the Francophone comedy industry ecosystem in Quebec and underline the relevant links between players. The players in the comedy industry, who are centered on the humorist, are mentioned for both creation/production and distribution/promotion. The proposed ecosystem provides a framework that is useful for studying other cultural industries and it simplifies visualizing various groups of players and their interactions. This thereby contributes to better action by the public authorities and the players.
